Monifa Perry is a NYC based photographer and social activist. Monifa’s work mixes styles of photo journalism, documentary and street photography.
A long standing fixture of NYC Hip Hop culture, Monifa has documented the culture for over a decade. Some of her favorite artist to photograph include Yasin Bey, The Roots, The Boot Camp Click/ Duck Down artists and the Griselda family.
In addition to her work in music, Monifa has contributed her time and talents to a number of social causes including Women’s Rights, Black Lives Matter, and the plight of Palestinians. There is a beauty and grace in the way she shines a light on the “people’s struggle”.
